Position Overview
This supply-chain role is responsible for managing the demand and supply requirements all customers across various business units.  The focus is on creating and maintaining accurate sku/customer forecasts while driving replenishment PO plans based on inventory needs within the SAP system.  The position will require being the owner of inventory and having close communicative and collaborative efforts with sales team, management, customer service, marketing and global team members.  Primary duties include the generating and tracking of finished goods PO’s, ensuring customer forecasts are compared against sales and budget plans, proactively identifying supply and demand risk, and optimizing inventory utilization, while meeting operational KPI and objectives for the company.  This position also includes continuous process improvement, SAP utilization, planning optimization and tracking of objectives.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Creates the 12-month rolling sku/customer forecast utilizing historical data, current order book trends, and statistical models to facilitate the agreement of a consensus business plan
  • Responsible to ensure forecast load and push to SAP is completed successfully on a monthly basis.
  • Owns Demand to Forecast deviation review and adjustment in identifying risks and opportunities and challenge discrepancies
  • Owns the analysis that drives purchase decisions for supply and inventory planning for assigned product categories, generates purchase plans from reqs based on certain criteria, issues initial PO’s direct to vendor or to Asia Operations Planning team for consolidation and subsequent submission to vendor.
  • Responsible for inventory levels, safety stock recommendations, fulfillment strategies for assigned product categories.
  • Maintaining appropriate product status codes in SAP as well as other planning parameters for assigned product categories.
  • Responsible for quarterly MRP audits of SAP master data for assigned product categories.
  • Manages the CPFR process in collaborating with suppliers in providing a rolling purchase plan
  • Owns Supply Flow Management and tracking purchases that make the most economical sense
  • Owns the identification of materials for the quarterly inventory hold process
  • Owns E&O inventory Review Process so to identify necessary sell plans and financial reserve recommendation
  • Analyze and document key drivers in forecast to demand variation
  • Supports the annual financial plan and budgeting process
  • Owns the Sales Analysis process – identification of risks and opportunities with the forecast to demand translation
  • Partner with production-capacity planners and Asia Operations Planning team in providing demand requirement inputs to the net build plan roll up process
  • Tracking and reporting of KPIs and objectives

Education and Training:

  • Bachelor degree in business or supply chain equivalent – MBA Preferred
  • Minimum 3-5 years experience in Supply Chain or Planning environment
  • Experience working in customer products – sporting goods industry a plus
  • SAP ERP experience desired
  • APICS certification preferred

Skills and Abilities:

  • Experience buying and forecasting in a consumer products environment
  • Ability to extract data from multiple systems/sources and then make recommendations
