Giro Introduces Fall 2009 Eyewear Line; ToneTM and CoyTM Sunglass Styles Feature Oversize Style, Italian‐made Detail and Quality

(SANTA CRUZ, CA) AUG 10, 2009: Giro® is proud to announce the launch of their Fall 2009 collection of sunglasses, including two new lifestyle models, the unisex ToneTM and women’s CoyTM. The complete Fall 2009 collection will be available at select Giro specialty outdoor, cycling and action sports retailers starting in September 2009.

“Giro’s Fall 2009 eyewear collection includes something fresh for everyone” “said Eric Richter, Giro Sr. Brand Manager. “The new, lifestyle models like Tone and Coy; neo‐classics like the Fader that can be worn casually or at play; and pure, performance‐driven sport eyewear like the Havik and Filter that have reinvented sport eyewear for top athletes around the world. Every model is made of the finest materials, features incredibly high‐quality lenses, and provides incredible fit, enhanced visual performance and leading style that people expect from Giro.”

  • TONETM; A classic, oversized style with subtle detailing and best‐in‐class optics. The injection molded frame is made in Italy and features Italian‐made, 8‐base ZEISS Certified lenses that block 100% of harmful UV rays. Available in 5 frame/lens options, including polarized, with MSRP range from $90.00 ‐ $140.00.
  • COYTM; The Coy’s timeless silhouette is the perfect complement for faces that stand out from the crowd. The injection molded, wrapped frame offers a medium fit that’s as comfortable at the beach as it is on the boulevard. Features Italian‐made 8‐base ZEISS Certified lenses to help protect eyes from sun, UV rays, and visual distortion that can compromise vision and comfort. Available in 4 frame/lens options with MSRP range from $90.00 ‐ $110.00.
  • “The Coy’s contemporary “oversized” style and Italian craftsmanship rival the world’s leading fashion brands, and the ZEISS Certified lenses ensure the clearest vision possible, while blocking harmful UV radiation too. It’s a truly unique combination” said Eric Richter, of Giro.
  • ZEISS CERTIFIED LENSES; ZEISS Certified lenses are made in Italy exclusively for Giro by the legendary experts at Carl Zeiss Vision Sunlens. Each ZEISS Certified lens is formed in a proprietary diamond‐polished mold and subjected to rigorous testing, including analysis for compatibility with the frame and a 24‐point quality inspection to ensure compliance with ZEISS’ exceptionally high standards. This means that every single lens marked with the iconic “Z” provides clear, accurate vision without distortion, and meets or exceeds the toughest standards in the industry.

COMPLETE GIRO FALL 2009 SUNGLASS LINE

In addition to the new ToneTM and CoyTM models, Giro’s full line includes the FaderTM and CymbalTM sport lifestyle models, the revolutionary FilterTM sunglass featuring Pop TopTM lens‐interchange technology; the team‐inspired HavikTM Full and HavikTM Compact models; the SemiTM Full and SemiTM Compact models; and the sport‐inspired InstigatorTM and SplitterTM styles.
