Easton-Bell Sports’ Helmet Technology Center is looking for someone to work in the lab testing helmets for team sports. The right candidate for this job will either have direct experience with team sports helmet testing or testing of hard-goods products coupled with depth of knowledge (e.g. player/coach) within one of the following sports football, hockey, baseball, softball or lacrosse.
Position Overview
The Test Technician will be primarily responsible for the testing of team sports helmets and will additionally be responsible for testing of other products as required. Test technician will be accountable for accurate recording of test data and for documentation and reporting of test results.
Essential Job Functions:
- Work closely with Engineering, Industrial Design, Manufacturing and Quality to perform and develop tests to evaluate products
- Maintain equipment in Test Lab through routine cleaning, service and calibration
- Maintain and readily communicate applicable test standards. Ensure standards are up to date
- Effectively manage test requests coming into the lab, follow through on requests and ensure appropriate communication of results to R&D team
- Must create documentation of tests performed and provide clear and organized reports that summarize results of any test
- Work with outside labs as necessary to supplement internal test capacity
- Keep informed of the latest test standards and of laboratory standard practices and instrumentation
- Perform other related tasks as assigned
Education and Training:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering desired or relevant work experience in related field
- 5+ years experience in laboratory or technical field
- 5+ years experience in consumer goods industry preferred
- Experience with test standard interpretation desired, including but not limited to NOCSAE, CPSC, CSA, ASTM & CEN
- Basic computer skills necessary and proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word
- Experience in team sports helmet testing desired
